Dear Brothers and Sisters,

During this time of social restrictions we encourage you to gather together in your homes as a family for worship time – either on Sundays or at any other time during the week. Please feel free to use these resources with your children to guide your Worship @ Home.

from St John’s Worship Team.

Kids @ Home – Feeding the 5000

Do you ever worry ‘is there enough?’

As a child I would worry,

‘Is there enough cake for everyone?’

‘Is there enough time in the day for Dad to play a game with me?’

‘Is there enough skipping ropes to play with at lunch time?’

Do you ever worry about missing out? Share some examples in your family.

In today’s Bible story, we learn that with Jesus there is enough. He provided enough for all of the people who had come to listen to him speak. Read the story of feeding the 5000 in your children’s bible or in Matthew 14.

Jesus always provides enough for us. We can trust him. We’re not talking specifically about fish and bread, and chocolate cakes and skipping ropes here though.

Jesus provides for us with His strength, His presence, His love, His people around us.

Look at the Bible verse below (Click on the All I need BibleVS link). Print them off and stick them up somewhere you can memorise them. Add your own favourites to memorise. Then, in your times of need, you can recite these verses to remember that Jesus can be trusted.  He is enough.

All I need BibleVs

Throughout the week, look for moments to recite these verses.

Ask Jesus to remind you that He is enough.

Perhaps, when you have a bad dream. Or at lunch time when you are not sure who to play with. Perhaps when you are frustrated that something has not gone to plan. Ask Jesus to help you to trust him that He is enough.

Jesus is with you. He loves you no matter what. He is enough to give you strength and peace. Trust Him!

Perhaps you’d like to make yourself a paper rollercoaster at home this week, to remind you that we can trust God to be enough for us even when life seems scary.

Click on this link for some examples and tips of how to do it.

Here is a quiz to test out your knowledge of this week’s bible story:
